The Deckhouse is a contemporary two-story boathouse/Cottage right by the water of Cowan Creek. It's tucked away in the beautiful Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. With a Northwest orientation, you can enjoy stunning views of both the sunrise and sunset.

Upper level
The panoramic views of the river and beyond greet you as you enter the open-plan entry level. It's beautifully decorated with a compact but fully equipped kitchen, a living area, a bedroom, and a spacious ensuite bathroom. This self contained living space is flooded with natural light, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling doors that open onto the balcony. It's the ideal spot to lay on the daybed, unwind and watch the boats go by.

The outdoor stairs lead you down to the lower level, where you can step right onto the deck and pontoon. You can launch the kayaks, fish, soak up the sun, or fire up the BBQ for a meal under the stars.

Additional open plan studio accommodation is also available on this lower level, comprising of an ensuite bathroom and direct access to the alfresco BBQ area.

When you choose to stay at The Deckhouse, Cottage Point the property is soley for your use. We do not rent out the accommodation areas seperately.

Kayak, fish or just relax and enjoy the water, the magnificent sunsets and serenity of Cottage Point.
Two kayaks and two fishing rods available for guest use. Boat hire is available across the road at the Cottage Point Kiosk and fine dinning is available at The Cottage Point Inn.

The Deckhouse uses rain water, we have a kitchen filtering system installed and reverse cycle air conditioning on both levels of the property. Washing machine is also available.

The Deckhouse is a modern two level boat house resting on the banks of Cowan Creek, a sub catchment of the Hawkesbury River. Less than an hour from Sydney’s CBD. It is available for those wishing to enjoy the beauty of the area. Bush walk, fish, hire a boat, kayak, enjoy beautiful meals from the local restaurants or simply lay on the daybed and watch the boats pass by.

My husband, Paul, and I first fell in love with this beautiful little community while spending time on the local waterways in our younger years. So, a few years ago, we were incredibly fortunate to make Cottage Point our home.
Living within a National Park was certainly an adjustment at first, but it didn’t take long for us to embrace the slower pace, the natural beauty, and the unique lifestyle that comes with living in this very special little corner of the world.
Not long after we arrived, we opened our boathouse, The Deckhouse, Cottage Point, to holidaymakers. Since then, it has been a place where many wonderful memories have been made — from romantic getaways and surprise marriage proposals to babymoons, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and longer stays.
We’ve welcomed guests from all over the world who come to experience our magnificent city, yet choose to escape the hustle and bustle and stay on its beautiful outskirts, right on the water’s edge.
It brings us so much joy to share this special place with others, and we hope you too have the opportunity to spend some time in this gorgeous part of the world — waking to the sweet sounds of the birds, surrounded by the water, wildlife and natural beauty that make Cottage Point so truly magical.
